Welcome to Weesperzijde 190, welcome to the beginning of a new development.

Along the Amstel stands a building that has been part of the city for decades. Large, distinctive, and for a long time mainly a place for the people who worked or studied there. Now it is preparing for its next phase.

With the environmental permit having become irrevocable, an important milestone has been reached and the starting signal for the redevelopment has been given. Weesperzijde 190 is thus moving from plans on paper to realization.

The redevelopment will bring the building to approximately 69,000 m2 and give it a new role in the city. Where it had a single function for many years, it will soon become a place where much more happens. A building that is alive, opens up to the city, and creates space for everything that happens in between. From early morning until late evening.

In the basement, on the ground floor, and on the first floor, there will be space for hospitality, work and stay areas, and events. A place where coffee is brewing, where people meet, and where good conversations naturally arise.

The floors above will retain their office function, but will be completely renewed and made future proof. Flexible floor plans, modern facilities, and quality in everyday use. The building will also be expanded with an additional top layer on both the high rise and low rise sections, creating new workspaces with views over the Amstel and the city.

What remains is its character. The robust architecture and its distinctive identity. Soon with more life than ever.

"A building where work is the foundation, while also offering space for everything around it."

Weesperzijde 190 building is located at Weesperzijde 190 in Amsterdam, at a stone’s throw from the A10 ring road and in the immediate vicinity of Amstel railway station. De Omval is mainly known for the Rembrandt Tower, the Breitner Tower with the Philips head office and the Mondriaan Tower, which is home to companies including Delta Lloyd, Rabobank Amsterdam and CMS.

The building dates from the 1970s and was designed by the firm of architects Zanstra, de Clercq Zubli, Lammersma & Partners (currently known as ZZDP Architecten), which later also designed the Rembrandt Tower. In the 1970s the former Rijkspostspaarbank was the first lessee of the Leeuwenburg building.
